1. About this policy
Hopcamp operates a marketplace for discovering and booking outdoor campsites in India, including campsites, cabins, caravans and glamping campsites. This policy explains how Hopcamp handles personal information through this website, account services and related communications. Our current service area is India.
2. Information we collect
Account information includes your first and last name, phone number, contact email, profile details and account identifiers. If you choose Google sign-in, we receive identity information needed to authenticate you, such as your Google account identifier, name and email. Search and booking information includes destinations, dates, numbers of adults and children, preferences, listing identifiers, reservation status and amounts. Hosts provide property descriptions, locations, facilities, photos and listing details. We also handle reviews, enquiries and information you send when contacting us. Service logs may contain IP addresses, request times, browser or device details, error information and security events.
3. How we use information
We use information to verify sign-ins, maintain accounts, show relevant campsites, check availability and capacity, process and manage reservations, support hosts, display listings and reviews, respond to enquiries, troubleshoot problems, prevent misuse and meet applicable legal obligations. Information required for a feature is used to provide that feature; withholding it may prevent you from signing in, booking or hosting. We seek consent where required and do not treat this policy as permission for unrelated marketing.
4. Destination and location information
Typed destination searches and selected place coordinates help us find relevant campsites. Destination suggestions may be processed by a map or place-search provider through our backend. These searches describe the place you want to visit; they do not by themselves grant access to your device location. If a feature requests precise device location, you can control that permission through your browser. Property locations and details supplied by hosts may appear publicly on listings.
5. When information is shared
We share reservation details needed to arrange and manage a campsite with the relevant host or camper. Published listings, photos and reviews are visible to other visitors and may be indexed by search engines. Service providers may process information for hosting, storage, identity verification, communications and payment processing when those services are used. They receive information needed for their role. Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, investigate fraud or protect people and the service. We do not sell personal information. Avoid posting private contact information or sensitive documents in public descriptions or reviews.
6. Payments
Where online payments are offered, the payment service provider handles payment credentials under its own terms and privacy notice. Hopcamp uses booking amounts, transaction references, payment status and refund records to manage reservations and resolve payment issues. Do not send card numbers, PINs, CVVs or OTPs to Hopcamp support or a host.
8. Retention and security
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, handle reservations and disputes, prevent misuse and comply with applicable record-keeping requirements. Retention depends on the information and its purpose; deleting an account does not necessarily remove records we must lawfully keep. We use safeguards such as access controls, secure session handling and restricted access to service systems. No internet service can guarantee complete security. Report suspected account misuse to our privacy contact promptly.
9. Your choices and privacy requests
You can review and update available profile fields in your account, control browser permissions and sign out. Contact help@hopcamp.co.in to request access to your information, corrections, account deletion, withdrawal of consent or to raise a privacy concern. Describe your request and provide the email or phone number associated with your account; do not send passwords or sign-in codes. We may ask for proportionate identity verification before acting. We will explain any information that must be retained and the effect of withdrawing information needed for a service. Rights and complaint routes under Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and its rules, apply as the relevant provisions come into force.
10. Children and family campsites
Account and booking services are intended for people aged 18 or above. A parent, guardian or other responsible adult should organise family bookings. For search and capacity purposes only, Adults means ages 13 or above and Children means ages 0–12; this grouping does not make a person under 18 an adult for privacy or legal purposes. The search form collects child counts, not individual child ages, dates of birth or names. Do not include identifying information about children in public content. If you believe a child has supplied personal information without appropriate authorisation, contact us so we can investigate.
11. Processing locations and external services
Although Hopcamp currently offers campsites only in India, infrastructure and service providers may process information outside India. We do not promise that every system or copy of information is located in India. Processing and transfers must comply with applicable Indian legal requirements. External websites and services, including Google and payment providers, have their own privacy practices; review their notices when choosing to use them.
12. Privacy and grievance contact
Business: Hopcamp. For privacy questions, requests or grievances, email help@hopcamp.co.in or call +91 79761 02071. Include a short description of your concern and a way for us to respond. We will assess the request, verify identity where needed and respond as required by applicable law.
13. Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy when our services, processing practices or applicable requirements change. The last-updated date identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice or seek fresh consent where required for a material change.
